Our Story

eathos (pronounced ‘ethos’) is an eatery like no other in Dublin. Our fresh approach to food, with quality and provenance in mind, makes this daytime fare unrivalled in the city.

Located across two locations on Baggot Street Lower & Baggot Street Upper, eathos is a café, eatery and patisserie that, as the name suggests, has a particular philosophy at its core. We want to make thoughtful food that makes our customers happy!

Our team is dedicated and passionate about food, from our highly trained and innovative chefs, who have designed a menu of creative flavours with first-class ingredients, right down to our friendly serving staff, who will attentively serve you explaining each dish as you request.

Our philosophy

Food is about enjoyment and that is at the heart of our philosophy. Our passion for food extends internationally and our inspiration comes from the world’s most pioneering chefs. We have harnessed this fervor for world cuisine to create a menu of delicious food from fresh savoury dishes to patisserie delights. We pay particular homage to Eastern Mediterranean cuisine throughout our menu, made with the best artisan Irish ingredients and produce.

Café – eatery – patisserie

The eathos experience begins when you set foot inside the front door. You will be greeted by a mouth-watering display of delights in our patisserie. Each treat is freshly baked and made early in the morning in our state-of-the-art kitchens. Just have a quick inspection as you walk by at what you’ll savour for dessert! Macroom ricotta ,white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake; Cranberry and pistachio oat tray bakes; Gooseberry financiers with strawberry, blackberry and mascarpone or Lemon and blueberry teacake, to name only a few.

The salad and protein counter is full of vibrant, comforting and wholesome food. Each dish has been thoughtfully made with the right balance of ingredients, flavour and goodness in mind. Choose a protein such as Pan roasted beef with horseradish, rocket and sour cream; Roasted free-range chicken supreme with sumac, lemon, za’atar and chilli or Seared tuna with soy and sesame sauce, ginger and wasabi. To accompany your pick, an array of incredible fresh salads are available of your choosing, such as: Roasted aubergine with saffron yoghurt, toasted pine nuts and pomegranate; Puy lentils with sour cherries, bacon and Cashel Blue or Roast sweet and rooster potato, Ardsallagh goat’s cheese and orange bitters.

Breakfast is served every day with a fantastic variety of wholesome dishes like Poached free-range eggs, organic cured salmon or air-dried ham on toasted sour dough with baby leaf salad, Shakshuka: two organic free-range eggs poached in spiced tomato, potato and Mergeuz sausage cassoulet or Gluten-free overnight organic oats in a jar with fresh berries, with lots more on offer for any type of hunger or diet! Plus, we know how you hate cold toast so you can toast your own bread at your table in your own time.

Our food is freshly made every day, free from preservatives and to the highest quality so that we can promise this standard to our customers, whether you dine in or take away. We also take your dietary needs into consideration with lots of dishes that are gluten or dairy free.

We have our own in-store retail shop filled with the best and most sought-after artisan products, including lots of our own products handmade from by our chefs. Pick one up for afternoon tea back in the office or a snack on the go.

We offer our customers a unique experience and so we are proud to work with a team of exciting, young people. This follow through to the provenance of our food; our beef is sourced from David Casey in Co. Tipperary, our fruits are from Keelings in Co. Dublin, our eggs from Dan & Margaret Kellegher in Co. Cork and our breads from the Firehouse Bakery in Co. Wicklow. We have also developed partnerships with exciting brands for our drinks offering; our fresh juices are from Green Beards, our coffee is from 3FE – exclusively the only café serving this coffee on Upper Baggot Street – and our teas from House of Tea.
